Special Silver Jewellery Week
Owing to the popularity of our PMC Silver Clay days and Clare Purts silversmithing days we are very excited to announce our Special Silver Jewellery Week!
Karen and Kathryn invite you to join us on a fully tutored silver crafting holiday from our beautiful Cortijo.
The week’s itinerary is below and although it is busy and varied, there is still plenty of time for relaxing, walking in the hills or finding a quiet spot in the garden to read or just enjoy the tranquility of your surroundings.
You need no previous experience to attend this week and by the end of your holiday you will have made:

Saturday April 16th
Pick up from Almería Airport for flights arriving during the morning. Transfer to Cortijo for welcome drinks and canapé’s before lunch.
This afternoon we will pick some botanicals from the garden and surrounding mountains to make the molds for your pendants tomorrow.
Dinner will be served around 7:30pm.
Sunday April 17th
9am Breakfast.
10:30 We will start by learning about the properties of silver clay and make your first pendants.
We will also be working on silver paste techniques.
Lunch.
This afternoon we will refine your botanical pendants, drill jump ring holes and learn how to fire the pendants.
Dinner.
Monday April 18th
After breakfast, we will transfer you to our wonderfully talented local silversmith, Clare Purt at Castellón De Bédar where you will make a twisted silver ring. You will learn various silversmithing techniques (Annealing, shaping, soldering, hammering and finally polishing).
Your day includes tea/coffee and cake, a fantastic lunch and canapés and cava to celebrate the beautiful ring you’ve made.
Supper at the Cortijo.
Tuesday April 19th
Breakfast.
This morning we will continue with your silver paste project. Learn how to put texture into silver clay and design a shape for your earrings in air dry clay.
Lunch.
This afternoon you will craft your earrings in silver clay.
Dinner.
Wednesday April 20th
After breakfast we will take a day trip out to Mojacar to explore the Moorish pueblo. There will be time for shopping, sightseeing and coffee.
We’ll head down to the Playa for tapas lunch. Free time to relax on the beach.
Dinner.
Thursday April 21st
After breakfast we will take you back to Castellón De Bédar for a “Creative Day”, where Clare will guide you to make a bangle to match your ring or a piece of your own design.
A delicious lunch will be created by Shane. At the end of the day you will enjoy cava and canapés with Clare and Shane on their terrace overlooking the beautiful pueblo of Bedar.
We'll pick you up and return to the Cortijo for supper.
Friday April 22nd
After breakfast we will continue with your silver paste project and refine your earrings, in readiness to fire them.
After lunch you will fire, polish and attach earring hooks and fire your silver clay project.
After dinner we will enjoy our last evening together with a celebratory banquet.
Saturday April 23rd
Early breakfast followed by our transfer to Almería Airport.
